Jose Pettina
Drum, Piano, guitar and bass teacher

Jose began learning music with the clarinet at the local conservatory, and took up the drums at the age of 15. He took lessons with teachers such as Raul Esmerold and Dominic Egli.

During his jazz training, Jose-Fernando improved his musical knowledge by practicing piano, guitar, bass and singing.

Passionate about percussion, he decided to pursue his studies in ethnomusicology. He obtained a bachelor’s degree in musicology and archaeology.

He is currently finishing his dissertation on the transmission of the Irish Sessions repertoire.

At the same time, Jose began training in music pedagogy at the HEP in Lausanne, with music courses at the HEMU in Lausanne.

In the course of his various training courses, Jose-Fernando joined a number of bands, ranging from jazz to metal, including Moonroads, Prisma, Madkat and Call me Storm, with whom he recorded albums and produced a video.

Today, Jose-Fernando performs in a wide variety of projects all over Switzerland. A medieval music group Arcana Antiqua, a stoner band B’Narress and an acoustic cover duo M & J Project.

Since October 2023, he has been teaching at the Drums&Co.ch music school.
